Teton tundra

Oil on linen, 16" x 20"

During college I went on a backpacking trip in Grand Teton National Park.  While the parks name has a somewhat questionable (and debated) origin, the views when immersed deep inside the park are stunning.  This scene was from a view at the very top of the mountain range.  I’m always amazed at how plants can survive so high up in elevation, with such limited resources.
